To run this classic Moscow distance is a rare chance to join the unique history of the marathon movement. Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world, and one day the Moscow Marathon may stand side by side with the world's most famous races. In 2013 it will be held for the first time. No one has run this route before. This means that not only the one who reaches the finish line faster than the others will be the champion, but all the participants.
Moscow Marathon route will follow the quays, main streets, Sadovoe and Bulvarnoe Rings. The race will start from "Luzhniki" sports complex built for the Olympic Games. The final meters will be at the Olympic Stadium, "Luzhniki" Grand Sports Arena. This part of the route is unique in its own way. After 2013 the Olympic Stadium will be rebuilt and Moscow Marathon will be the last major sporting event to take place on its site. The fact that everyone can take part in Moscow Marathon makes this finish very special: a tribute and farewell to the last part of the history of sport in Moscow.

To prepare for the marathon without losing motivation along the way, find soul mates and just enliven the workouts, preliminary Moscow Marathon races will be held in Moscow from April to September. Everyone can take part in the competitions. Together we will make this a most interesting and memorable Moscow running season.
April 7, 2013. This race will open the running season! These 5 kilometres will be the first major Moscow race after a long winter and the first real race of 2013.
May 12, 2013. The popular "Spring Thunder" includes several races at different distances. There is a children's race, half-marathon, and 10 kilometres’ race. If you can confidently run a 10-kilometre or half-marathon, this race could be your first step to completing the marathon in 4 months.
June 22, 2013. Early morning and daylight running are not your only options.. Night races are no less exciting: the cool summer air, bright illumination and runners in T-shirts with light-reflecting numbers and flashlights. This is not only one of the shortest, but also the fastest night of the year.
August 4, 2013. Moscow's best half-marathon. It’s a great chance to test your skills before the marathon season or your first long-distance race. To keep the tempo and stay within the scheduled time download a special music track before the race. Choose the speed for this half-marathon yourself.
August 25, 2013. The brightest and most cheerful 5 kilometres in your life. This is not a speed competition but a colourful celebration. At each kilometre mark you will meet clouds of dry colour, volunteers will generously "sprinkle" runners with. This race will bring joy not only to the participants and those who will attend the event. A part of the entry fee will go to Natalia Vodianova’s "Bare Hearts" charity fund to make children in need happy.
